The freedom movement was at its pinnacle and general sentiment was against the empirical values the Britihers have cultivated in this land through coloured western ideas, late Dadasaheb Rege wished to start an institution which will inculcate the Indian values and ethos, in the right impressionable age. His idea was to have a school which will represent and of course cultivate the liberated and imaginative minds of post independent India.

A glorious day in the Chapter of Balmohan Vidyamandir opened on September 05, 2002 (Teacher’s day), when Balmohan Vidyamandir was conferred the award of Excellence in the field of Education and Community Welfare and declared as a Premier Educational Institution in the State of Maharashtra.

Memorable letters from Balmohan’s journey

Letters written by two great personalities to each other all over the world have been given the status of literature because it symbolizes the language of the time, the social anatomy, and the affection and intimacy of the two persons towards each other. Many people have written letters to Dadasaheb Rege and wish him, many times Dada Rege has written letters to dignitaries expressing his feelings. Today, Dadasaheb Rege is not alive and many personalities with whom he corresponded are not alive, but we are opening this literary treasure for you.
