Celebrating Earth Day – A Green Initiative 2025-26
April 22, 2025
To mark Earth Day, Balmohan Vidyamandir kick-started a meaningful and exciting Green Initiative aimed at turning our School into a Zero Waste Campus. With a shared goal of protecting our planet; students, parents and teachers came together to begin a journey toward a more mindful and eco-friendly habits.
The day began on an inspiring note, with students and staff coming together in the spirit of sustainability. At 10:30 am, three clearly labelled bins – for paper, plastic, and e-waste – were placed in the School premises. This marked the beginning of a waste segregation drive, designed to encourage responsible disposal habits among our young learners.
Students enthusiastically brought old notebooks, used newspapers, plastic bottles, containers, chargers, batteries, and wires from home. Under the guidance of the Principal, Headmistress and the teachers, they carefully sorted and deposited each item into its designated bin. The excitement was palpable as the little ones from Std I to IV took great pride in leading and guiding the grown-ups into ensuring the appropriate segregation. The new found knowledge was a display of amusement & laughter.
Students from Std I to IV explored simple yet meaningful ways to protect the Earth – creating promise books, crafting with reused materials, making seed bombs, and designing their own paper bags. Each action, though small, carried a powerful message – change begins with us, right here, right now.
This initiative not only fostered eco-awareness but also gave students a hands-on understanding of how small, everyday actions can contribute to a Cleaner and Greener environment.
Together, as Balmohan Parivaar, we have plugged into sustainability – one thoughtful act at a time!
“A greener tomorrow begins with the small hands of today.“
